 Halloween and Día de los Muertos are coming to The Station, and we’d love to celebrate with you!

 As our neighbors in the communities surrounding Michigan Central Station, you’re invited to join us for two special days of family-friendly activities, entertainment, culture and fun.

Halloween at The Station

Saturday, October 31

Bring the family for a day of Halloween fun, including a free movie, Trunk or Treat and activities both inside and outside the Station like face painting by some of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Detroit youth and monster mask making.

Schedule Highlights:

• 10 a.m. - Free movie screening of Hocus Pocus

• Noon–4 p.m. - Halloween activities open inside and outside The Station

• Noon–2 p.m. - Trunk or Treat outside The Station

• 2:30 p.m. - Free movie screening of Hocus Pocus

Día de los Muertos at The Station

Sunday, November 1

Celebrate Día de los Muertos with us through music, culture, family activities and a special Ballet Folklórico performance.

Schedule Highlights:

• 10 a.m. - Free movie screening of Coco

• Noon-4 p.m. - Activities open inside The Station like sugar skull crafting

• Noon-4 p.m. Detroit VOCES community ofrenda, portrait + oral history station

• 1 p.m. - Ballet Folklórico performance

• 2:30 p.m. - Free movie screening of Coco

Both days: Concessions will be available for purchase inside The Station from noon–5 p.m., along with shopping at The Shop, Neighbor x Folk and Yellow Light.

These celebrations are an opportunity for us to welcome our surrounding Detroit community to Michigan Central and bring neighbors together. Bring your family and come spend a holiday weekend with us. No registration required.

ROAD CLOSURE INFORMATION

The streets that will be closed (partially or fully) as early as 5 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 30 and re-open at 11 p.m. on Saturday, Oct.31 are as follows: 

• Lacombe/Vernor & 16th - Half (Type 3) Cement Barrier/Half - Security vehicle

• 15th Street between Lacombe & Dalzelle - Half (Type 3) Orange Baracades/Half-Security vehicle

• Dalzelle at 14th Street - Full (Type 3) ALL Cement barrier

• Marantette at 14th - Half (Type 3) Orange Baracades/Half-Security vehicle
