Greater Corktown Choice Neighborhoods Community Survey

The City of Detroit is launching the 2026 Greater Corktown Choice Neighborhoods Community Survey! This survey is part of the City's efforts to ensure we maintain a Corktown for everyone. If you live, work or own a business in North Corktown or Historic Corktown, you are invited to submit a survey between now and June 30, 2026. The Greater Corktown Choice Neighborhood boundaries are the Detroit River, I-75/I-96, Martin Luther King, and the Lodge/M-10. This survey should take only 7-8 minutes to complete. Your response will be kept anonymous. Survey data will be analyzed by JFM Consulting Group and the analysis will be shared with City teams. ¡La Ciudad de Detroit lanza la Encuesta comunitaria de Choice Neighborhoods en Greater Corktown para el año 2026! Esta encuesta es parte de los esfuerzos de la Ciudad para asegurar que mantenemos un Corktown para todos. Si usted vive, trabaja o es dueño de un negocio en North Corktown o Historic Corktown, le invitamos a completar la encuesta entre ahora y el 30 de junio de 2026. Los límites del área de Choice Neighborhoods en Greater Corktown son desde el río Detroit, las autopistas I-75/I-96, Martin Luther King y la Lodge/M-10. Michigan Humane Society’s Tailgate Roosevelt Park Saturday, May 9

7:30 AM – 2:00 PM 

This pet-friendly event brings together runners, walkers, families, and animal lovers in support of Michigan Humane’s work.

Event highlights include: 

• 5K Run & 1K Community Walk 

• Outdoor Festival in Roosevelt Park 

• Meet Your Best Friend Adoption Event 

• Food Trucks & Beer Garden 

• Dog Activities & Contests 

• Community Partners & Local Vendors 

• Live Music and Entertainment

Road Closures (Morning Hours) 

To safely host the race routes, temporary road closures will occur during the morning hours on May 9. Streets will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so after participants pass.

• 14th & Dalzalle  

• 14th & Marantette  

• 14th & Bagley  

• 15th & Bagley  

Traffic control officers and event volunteers will be stationed throughout the route to help guide traffic, minimize disruption, and maintain emergency access at all times. 

Sound & Event Activity 

As part of the festival programming in Roosevelt Park, there will be limited amplified sound during event hours, including: 

• MC announcements for race coordination 

• Background and live music within the festival area 

All sound will be professionally managed and kept within City of Detroit permitted levels. Amplified sound will be contained within the park and will conclude at the end of the permitted event window. 

Grant Application Update

Opens 5/4 & Closes 6/4 (at 11:59P)

Key Details 

• Grant Amount: $2,500 – $10,000  

• Grant Term: 12–24 months  

• Geographic Focus: Corktown, North Corktown and Hubbard Richard  

• Eligibility: 501(c)(3) nonprofits, schools, government entities and fiscally sponsored organizations  

• Note: In limited cases, organizations outside these neighborhoods may be considered if their work directly serves residents  

2026 Timeline 

• Application Opens: May 4 

• Registration Deadline (MyCF online portal): May 22 

• Application Deadline: June 4 by 11:59 p.m. EST  

• Grant Decisions Announced: August 

All applications must be submitted through the Community Foundation’s online portal (MyCF).
